The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting
applications for a Chief EEO/Diversity Officer in the department of
Human Resources. Plans, coordinates and manages all functions of the
Agency's EEO/AA program including policy development, diversity
recruitment, sexual harassment and EEO training, and AAP development.
Serves as the agency's Title IX and ADA Coordinator. Reviews all
hiring actions for compliance with Agency EEO policies and procedures
and briefs all hiring officials on Agency affirmative action goals.
Knowledge of principles and practices of Equal Employment, affirmative
action and human resources management. Knowledge of policies and
procedures. Ability to establish and maintain working relationship
with employees and managers. Knowledge of Federal and State laws.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in applying policies and
procedures. Ability to communicate clearly, coordinate, develop and
conduct training programs for assigned staff.
Investigates formal and informal complaints of alleged discrimination,
employee complaints or grievances relating to fair employment
practices and college policies and procedures; recommends and/or
initiates corrective actions to the College administration. Develops,
organizes and participates in Community Outreach Programs. Serve as a
member of the NCAA Recertification Subcommittee for Gender and
Minority Equity. Monitor athletic employment actions for compliance
with The Citadel's Gender and Minority Equity Plan and NCAA
guidelines. Ensure coaches are instructed annually on sexual
harassment. Implements various programs to better service employees
and the department. May serve as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate and
as a member of the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Council.
Provides required data and is the Agency's point of contact to the
State Human Affairs Commission. Recommends, supervises and monitors
staff training and wellness programs. Oversees the development and
implementation of faculty and staff development programs. Develops and
enforces Human Resources policies and procedures. Oversees the
immigration application,VISA and VISA extension process. Ensures
organizational compliance with Immigration codes and regulations.
Represents the college at meetings and conferences on matters related
to equity, diversity, and human resources best practices. Assists the
Director with the development and implementation of strategic HR
intitatives. Assists the Director with related financial requirements
for the department. Serve on external/internal human resources
boards/committees as required or assigned.
A bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in human resources
management programs. A master's degree preferred.
