Center for Indian Bilingual Teacher Education (CIBTE) 


Prescott College seeks a Full-time Faculty member in the field of Early Childhood Education to work in an innovative teacher certification program serving Native Americans living in Arizona. The CIBTE program serves Native American students, primarily living on reservations in northern and southern Arizona, through mentored/independent study in the student’s home community.   We seek a dynamic educator with a demonstrated interest in improving the quality of Early Childhood Education through a culturally compatible, individualized, high quality certification program that will meet a severe need to prepare pre-K teachers and fulfill the new certification mandates for early childhood educators. 

The duties of this position includes recruiting, orienting, advising and teaching Native American students; selecting and evaluating appropriate mentors; approving student teaching placements; working with cooperating teachers and other duties within the parameters of grant funding.  This position will be based in Prescott, Arizona and will require travel.

Qualifications:
•	Ph.D. in relevant program area or Masters Degree with significant professional experience 
•	Teaching experience at the collegiate level in early childhood education 
•	Educational background in culturally appropriate literacy is highly preferred
•	Professional experience working in Native American communities preferred
