Bowers Museum opens two wonderful exhibitions on September 12 -- The Baroque World of Fernando Botero and Latin American Masters. Please encourage your students to attend the exhibitions, which are open through the end of the year. Bowers has extremely affordable student pricing. It would also be wonderful if you viewed the exhibitions as well. Please encourage your family, friends and colleagues to experience the shows too. There isn't a better cultural experience in Orange County than Bowers Museum.
The Baroque World of Fernando Botero is the first major U.S. retrospective presented in more than 30 years by the renowned Colombian artist. Recognized worldwide for his unique style of voluminous forms and sensuous figures, Botero's work often takes on subjects related to religion, politics, and history with a critical and comical approach. The exhibition features 100 paintings, sculptures, and drawings, many never before been seen in public.
Latin American Masters showcases modern and contemporary works by Latin America's most celebrated artists, including Botero, Joaquín Torres-García, Frida Kahlo, Roberto Matta, José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Rufino Tamayo, and many others. The exhibition thematically explores the 20thcentury art movements and styles of cubism, portraiture and landscapes, Mexican muralism, surrealism, and abstraction.
We look forward to seeing you at The Bowers!
Sincerest regards,
Rick Weinberg
