HILLYER COLLEGE
DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
SPRING 2009 SEARCH AD
English: The University of Hartford's Hillyer College is searching for a
tenure-track Assistant Professor of English, to begin August 2009. Ph.D. in
literature or composition/rhetoric, college teaching experience, and
interest and experience teaching writing required. We particularly invite

teaching load with engaged student advising and active scholarship. Hillyer
College is a two-year, A.A.-granting program featuring a core curriculum in
the liberal arts and small classes that help capable but often underprepared
students reach their potential; most students transfer into the University's
four-year degree programs. The candidate may also have the opportunity to
teach in the University's nationally recognized interdisciplinary
All-University Curriculum. The University of Hartford is an open and
welcoming community, which values diversity in all its forms. In addition,
the University aspires to have its faculty reflect the rich diversity of its
student body and the Hartford region. Candidates committed to working with
diverse populations and conversant in multicultural issues are encouraged to
apply. Please send letter of interest, CV, three letters of recommendation,
and transcripts to English Search Committee, Hillyer College, University of
Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, Connecticut 06117. For
