Colleagues,

Through the generosity of the Paddock Trust, Tanenbaum is now able to
offer 10 partial scholarships for our professional development course,
"Religion and Diversity Education: Cultivating Global Citizenship"!!
The first 10 teachers who register for the course and complete the
course will receive a scholarship of $350 of the $450 tuition. We are
very excited to offer this opportunity to the teachers of New York City

Teachers who take Tanenbaum's Cultivating Global Citizenship will:

* explore theories of multicultural education

* prepare themselves to apply the 7 Principles

* practice using Tanenbaum's standards referenced, literacy
based curricula, and

* develop original curricula to use in their classrooms.

The course will be offered in Tanenbaum's offices in Manhattan on
February 16-20, 2009 from 9am - 4pm. A flyer is attached for your
information. You can view the course syllabus and register by going to
the After School Professional Development Program's website at
http://schools.nyc.gov/Teachers/aspdp.

Please pass this message on to your colleagues who are New York City
Department of Education elementary school teachers and feel free to call
me with any questions you may have.

In collaboration,

Mark Fowler
