The National MultiCultural Institute (NMCI) with FutureWork Institute (FWI)
would like to invite you to its Fall 2009 Conference - Forging New Pathways
for Diversity and Inclusion: Building Skills for Collaboration and Dialogue.
This year's conference will engage, excite, and encourage you to become a
cultural ally in your workplace and community. As a member of the larger
education community, you believe that multiculturalism benefits your
organization and you understand the importance of creating an inclusive
workplace environment for yourself and your colleagues, as well as the
students that you serve.  

NMCI will provide you with the necessary tools to increase your cultural
competency and share your knowledge with others. The conference includes:

Emerging Issues Forum to convene leaders from different sectors and areas of
expertise, to engage in thoughtful dialogue on controversial diversity and
equity issues, and to elicit concrete strategies for successfully overcoming
challenges in the field. This exciting forum will include keypad technology,
Interactive Theatre, a World Cafe dialogue symposium, and strategies to
implement dialogue into action. 

 

Diversity Dialogue Series to provide participants with an opportunity to
build and practice skills for effective dialogues around difficult diversity
issues. This series will address issues of religion and GLBT, race and
ethnicity, generational, and microinequities at work. 

 

Diversity Leadership Institute to provide professionals with the skills they
need to effectively manage and lead diverse organizations, build internal
capacity for inclusive workplace practices, and drive organizational culture
change. Programs offered include Building Cultural Capabilities for an
Inclusive Workplace, Training of Trainers I: Facilitating Diversity
Awareness Workshops, Training of Trainers II: Training for Cultural
Competence - Beyond the Basics, and  Implementing Organizational Culture
Change for Diversity & Inclusion.

movement!

 

This is a great opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units! NMCI
provides up to 24 Continuing Education Units (CEU) to Counselors,
Psychologists, and Social Workers.

 

NMCI is an approved provider of CEU's by the National Board for Certified
Counselors as an  Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP)*, National
Association of Social Workers, and Maryland Board of Examiners of
Psychologists.

 

NMCI may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC
requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program
