The Equity Alliance at ASU is conducting a national search for a highly
motivated and experienced individual to  work in conjunction with our
principal investigators and the Equity Alliance team to plan, direct, and
implement continuous improvement activities in support of our center’s
mission, objectives, and outcomes.   Qualified candidates will have a
passion for educational equity, and a desire to help build capacity at all
levels in order to bring about systemic and sustainable change that delivers
positive outcomes for all students.

Job Description

Job Title: Equity Assistance Center Specialist

This is a grant funded position.  Continuation is contingent on future grant
funding.

$50,000 - $65,000/year; DOE.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborates with Principal Investigators (PIs), Project Director and the
Equity

Alliance team to develop, manage and administer the Center's continuous
improvement and publication plans.

Works collaboratively with PIs, and Project Director to establish and plan
objectives, develop, and design continuous improvement tools, products, and
data maps.  Works collaboratively with PIs, Project Director, and the Equity
Alliance team to ensure development of resources and tools to increase the
use of scientifically-based, culturally responsive practices in educational
systems.  Leads the continuous improvement team by ensuring that project
tasks are in line with skills, interests and abilities of
individuals.  Works closely with PIS, Project Director and the Equity
Alliance team to ensure that all products are research-based, professional
quality, and function effectively as communication and learning
tools.  Assists in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation
for effectiveness of a high-quality learning and dissemination
platform.  Assists in the planning, development, and delivery of
high-quality technical assistance and professional
development.  Disseminates and publishes research findings on supporting
educational equity to the field.  Co-authors, supervises and reviews cases,
briefs, publications and articles written for a variety of audiences in
order to advance the work of the Center.  Assesses the system changes that
result from the use of the Center's tools and resources, including technical
assistance, through projects to be developed in collaboration with PIs,
Director, and Co-Director.  Investigates grant opportunities, writes and
develops grant proposals to support sustainability of the Equity Alliance
team.  Interacts with other external collaborators to gather input into
professional learning and development initiatives and to understand and
contribute to the center's agenda for improvement and its relevance for the
communities in which we work.  Works collaboratively to establish and
maintain positive working relationships with outside organizations, federal
groups, other universities, and ASU faculty to provide technical assistance,
materials, services, and other resources.  Maintains proactive working
relationships with all stakeholders of other departments of state
governments, businesses and industry, local/area boards, districts and
partnerships.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in related field AND three (3) years evaluation experience
to include three (3) years experience working in education including
demonstrated experience as a project evaluator, OR any equivalent
combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge,
skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

Doctoral degree in related field. Evidence of record of
publications.  Experience working with: evaluation and technical assistance;
evaluating educational settings; analyzing large data sets; using GIS
mapping for continuous improvement monitoring; school administrators and
teachers; national TA centers; using NVIVO and SPSS; case study research;
educational evaluation; making presentations to groups and individuals;
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; multiple
locations and with a variety of individuals with potentially conflicting
agendas to gain consensus and understanding; working in a team environment
.   Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of: theory and cutting-edge methods, protocols and
techniques; the principles, methods and practices of project evaluation;
educational equity issues.
