Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke stated on his website that he will
hold a Euro International white supremacist conference Nov. 7-9 at an
undisclosed location in Memphis, Tenn.

White supremacists to hold conference in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - White supremacists are scheduled to hold a conference
this fall in Memphis.

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke's Web site states he will hold his
Euro International conference Nov. 7-9 in Memphis where he will talk about
the presidential election and other issues.

WMC-TV reports Kevin Kane, with the convention and visitors bureau, said his
office did not book the event. It's not clear yet exactly where the
conference is being held. Duke's website says it will be in a country
setting in a secure area.

Duke formerly served in the Louisiana Legislature. He said Memphis was
chosen because it's a centrally located U.S. city and a major airline hub.

The city is home to the National Civil Rights Museum, it is where Martin
Luther King Jr. was assassinated and both the city and county mayors are
black.
