Hello, friends.

Please forward this email to other people and listservs full of people who
might be interested...

Many of you have seen and responded to my request for syllabi. I'm doing a
series of studies on the ways in which teachers and future teachers are
prepared in terms of educational equity, multicultural education, social
justice, and related areas.

As part of the larger study, I intend to survey people who teach college-
and/or graduate-level classes on these topics. I realize that some folks who
might not be interested in sharing their syllabi might be willing to
participate in an anonymous survey. The survey will attempt to uncover the
philosophical foundations drawn upon in these classes, but also information
regarding the level of support felt by the instructor and various challenges
she or he comes upon in attempting to teach these classes.

If you are willing to participate in such a survey (which will be Web-based
and totally anonymous and will be posted in a month or so), please send me a
quick note to gorski at edchange.org and let me know.

In order to participate you must teach one or more courses that meet these
criteria:

1. The class is specifically on multicultural education, diversity
education, intercultural education, social justice education, and related
topics. I will not include people teaching a class with a section on one of
these topics or that "incorporates" these topics into a larger subject.

2. The classes must be part of education programs (either graduate or
undergraduate), so that people who teach classes only in communications
programs or social work programs (for example) are not eligible.

Thank you for considering.

And by the way, it's not too late to send a syllabus to me if you haven't
done so. (Or to point me to a syllabus somewhere in cyber-space.)

Best,

Paul
