Call for papers

If your work involves religious aspects of intercultural education you may be interested in submitting a paper for the Fall 2009 edition of Academic Exchange Quarterly<http://www.rapidintellect.com/AEQweb/6religi.htm> on religion, spirituality and education.

Focus: Papers dealing with any aspect of teaching about religion in common or faith schools or papers that include discussion of the religious or spiritual development of young people would be welcome. The approach may be philosophical and deal with questions of pluralism, parental rights, sectarianism or autonomy or may employ empirical research to investigate aspects of religion and spirituality in educational contexts through quantitative or qualitative means. The latter may include analysis of whole-school approaches, regional or national programmes, case-studies or focus on issues of importance for teachers, pupils or senior managers in relation to the teaching or development of religion and spirituality. Of particular interest would be papers exploring religious and spiritual education from a human rights perspective or engaging with the religious dimensions of intercultural education.

Who May Submit:
Manuscripts are sought from teachers, researchers, teacher-educators and other academics with experience of teaching religious or spiritual education at any level or who have undertaken research into religious education, spiritual education or the religious aspects of intercultural education. Third level students whose work is supported by a lecturer/professor will also be considered (co-authored with professor). Submissions may be in the form of research reports, case studies, research in progress, or theoretical papers.
