The CACREP Counselor Education Program at Texas Tech University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor Position

Assistant/Associate Professor in Counselor Education
Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the employing department.
Conduct peer reviewed research and in some cases secure funding for research.
Provide professional and university service.
Occasional Duties
Responsibilities: Measurably competent as effective teacher and advisor for students enrolled in a CACREP accredited program. Teaching Counselor Education classes as well as school counseling classes and assessment courses. The position will require a successful research agenda and service on committees.
Qualifications
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity. An earned doctorate in Counselor Education or equivalent, preferable from a CACREP accredited program. Experience as a school counselor and Texas LPC and School Counselor Certification eligible are preferred.
