Greetings, friends, colleagues, and comrades.

Please pass this email along to others who might be interested or willing to
participate.

In continuation of a study I just completed, I am collecting syllabi from
multicultural education type courses in order to do various types of content
analysis. I am hoping to collect up to 100 syllabi from across the U.S. The
purpose of the study is to determine the ways in which multicultural
education is conceptualized in teacher education (both pre-service and
in-service) coursework.

In order to be eligible for the study, the syllabi must align with these
criteria:

1. I will only include syllabi from classes specifically on multicultural
education, diversity education, intercultural education, social justice
education, and related topics. So a more general syllabus (such as a social
foundations of education class) that includes a section on these topics is
not eligible.

2. I will only include syllabi from classes that are part of education
programs (either graduate or undergraduate), so that syllabi from courses
taught in communications programs or social work programs (for example) are
not eligible.

3. I will only include syllabi provided to me from the person or persons
teaching the class, so that syllabi sent to me by a colleague or student of
an instructor is not eligible.

I strip the name of the instructor off syllabi as soon as I get them, so no
individual instructors will be named in my study.

If you are willing to allow me to include your syllabus in the study, please
send it along in electronic format (gorski at edchange.org).

Thanks!

Paul
