aggregate a movement at the scale of the climate challenge we are confronting
by communicating a positive vision and advocating a clear, simple set of goals
and policy initiatives. 1 Sky was borne from the collective urgency and
determination of a diverse group of leaders who believe that we must converge
quickly and enthusiastically to form a movement capable of achieving solutions
on the scale of the problem. Our diverse movement has many strengths,
audiences and organizing strategies and 1Sky aggregates that power. 1 Sky is building
a central staff of approximately 25 located in the D.C. area that works
cooperatively with 1Sky partner organizations around the country to carry out
our mission.
1Sky is seeking a smart, motivated and experienced Communications & Outreach
Coordinator. S/he will assist the Internet and Communication Directors in
shaping and implementing our communications strategy for education and advocacy
campaigns. The Communications & Outreach Coordinator reports to both the
Internet and Communications Directors, and oversees the Outreach Administrative
Assistant in tandem with the Field & Outreach Coordinator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Help build relationships with communications staff of partner
organizations to effectively shape 1Sky’s communications strategies.
• Coordinate message and press outreach to advance 1Sky’s national advocacy
campaigns.
• Develop press materials and other outreach tools for our 1Sky and partner
groups to deliver a consistent and clear message about the 1Sky solutions.
• Deploy rapid response to attacks and seize opportunities to visibly and
vocally move forward the 1Sky solutions in political and policy battles.
• Manage production of print, radio and TV advertisements that are
hard-hitting, provocative, and effective for our campaigns.
• Strategically elevate the voices of 1Sky partners as spokespeople whenever
possible.
• Manage organizational materials and tools for message consistency and
effectiveness.
• Working with the Internet Director, build relationships with new media
(blogs, etc.) and use them to get the word out about 1Sky campaigns.
• Assist Internet Director with overarching concepts and message for
_www.1Sky.org_ (http://www.1Sky.org) .
• Write copy for the full range of _www.1Sky.org_ (http://www.1Sky.org)
functions.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• 5 years experience in all aspects of campaign communications strategies,
marketing, and media relations.
• Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations
or related field.
• Excellent writing skills for diverse audiences: the press; the public;
policy professionals.
• Excellent detail-oriented project management.
• Experience marketing scientific and policy minutia to the public and
decision-makers, without sacrificing the integrity of the 1sky solutions.
• Enjoy working under pressure, under deadline, and can think quickly on
your feet.
• Strong judgment on what kinds of tactics and campaigns will attract press
attention
• Experience turning press attention into policy wins in the fewest possible
steps.

to support the work of the
fundraising team by supporting 1Sky foundation fundraising as well as
helping to develop and implement a
major gifts and direct mail program. Reports to Campaign Director.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support 1Sky’s foundation-based fundraising by preparing grant proposals,
reports, and budgets.
· Develop major gifts by targeting individual donors based on potential for
giving and substantive interests.
· Work closely with Campaign Director and external allies to identify,
research, cultivate, build and solidify
relationships with new and established individual contributors. Analyze
historic patterns of giving and develop
effective strategies for one-on-one solicitations and Planned Gifts.
· Cultivate relationships with major donors by inviting them to special
events which highlight the campaign’s
substantive work, and through regular customized mailings.
· Help organize and implement fundraising events as a vehicle to cultivate
major gifts.
· Oversee 1Sky’s direct mail campaign and membership program.
· Ensure that all donor acknowledgements are completed and appropriate
records, prospect lists and mailing
lists are maintained.
PROFESSIONAL · Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in foundations,
major gifts development and special events, and
a demonstrated commitment to the field.
· Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Bachelor’s Degree in English, communications, public administration, or
related field.
· Excellent writing and editing skills.
· Computer skills, including database and excel spreadsheet management.
· Comfort with multi-tasking and a fast-paced, high-performance culture.
· Energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor.

member will report to the Campaign Operations Manager and oversee the work of
the Development Coordinator. S/he is responsible for meeting organizational
fundraising goals, working with the Campaign Director, Campaign Operations

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, manage and evaluate short and long-term fund-raising campaigns and
activities that provide for full implementation of the 1Sky campaign plan.
• Identify and cultivate prospective donors, including foundations,

organizations a long-term priority.
• Oversee and work collaboratively with partner organizations to develop

1Sky seeks 2 Lead Organizers who will help coordinate the grassroots effort
to engage and mobilize more than 1 million people to advocate the 1Sky
solutions policy platform. The Organizers report to the Field & Outreach Director
and work closely with the Field & Outreach team to coordinate over 100
organizers placed with collaborating organizations nationwide.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement a program to place over 100 field organizers in
collaborating organizations nationwide.
• Work with new organizers to effectively customize 1Sky’s field and
outreach strategies in their communities, including voter education campaigns,
candidate “bird-dogging”, and voter registration, ID and GOTV.
• Help to build, engage and mobilize a network of over 1 million activists
to advance 1Sky’s national advocacy campaigns through local organizing efforts.
• Creatively leverage the grassroots power of supporting organizations and
existing activist communities.
• Ensure the integrity of the 1Sky policy platform and message in all
materials and tools used to implement decentralized grassroots strategies
• Provide training and support to organizers as needed to ensure the
collective actions are meeting goals laid out in the 1Sky campaign plan.
• Track and evaluate collective actions nationwide.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• 3-5 years organizing experience in electoral, issue and/or legislative
campaigns
• Bachelors degree in a related field.
• Experience engaging and motivating decentralized staff or volunteers
• Experience working collaboratively with other organizations with diplomacy
• Know the difference between creative and crazy new organizing strategies
• Can motivate anyone to do anything: in print, over the phone, or online.
