Dear Friends:
It is our pleasure to announce the second annual Youth Open House
(YOH!) taking place this year from June 5-6, 2008 at the World Bank
Headquarters in Washington D.C. We are inviting youth organizations
and individuals who are working on development issues or have an
interest in learning more.
This two day conference is an opportunity for youth organizations and
individuals from Canada and the United States to come together to
share their experiences, knowledge, and concerns with a network of
their peers and development organizations, such as the World Bank,
around the issue of global development. The conference will also
explore how young people in North America can be involved through the
Youth, Development and Peace Network and how they can be part of the
global effort between youth and development organizations to work
together to create an equitable and sustainable future for all.
Attached is a flyer for the event. The event will feature workshops,
lectures, activities, and an organization fair. We also encourage you
to visit our website at www.ydpna.org to find out more about the
network and the conference. There, you will also find the YOH! 2008
application. All applications for the conference are due by Monday
May 12, 2008. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact
the YOH! team at info at ydpna.org.
We look forward to seeing you in June!
Sincerely,
The YDP-NA Interim Steering Committee
