The responses to the voice of Catrina Bush appear to support her 
case.  Each response, in one way or another, denied her reality, her 
experience.  The only letter-writer who specifically identified 
herself racially did say that she was not saying that Ms. Bush did 
not have those experiences, but then the letter-writer went on to 
offer an "explanation" for Ms. Bush's experiences, an interpretation 
that lay the responsibility upon Ms. Bush's shoulders.

I believe that such denials are a cornerstone of the expression, 
maintenance, and expansion of racism.  I do not know one person of 
color who does not experience these kinds of denials constantly.
