Job Title Associate Consultant
Status Regular, Full-time, exempt position

Position Overview

TACS seeks an Associate Consultant to provide direct service to community
based nonprofit organizations working primarily in communities of color. The
Associate Consultant will participate in the design of an important new
program to support communities of color and serve as the main service
provider to participating nonprofits seeking organizational strengthening
and capacity building support.

The ideal candidate for the Associate Consultant position will have at least
two years professional experience in a related field and in issues like
project management, organizational change efforts, client support, and
evaluation. Applicants must be committed to our overall mission, be
interested in participating in a team process and be able to travel
throughout Oregon.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide Project Management: Organize and manage time and resources to meet
project goals. Develop good work processes to ensure effective
implementation.
Deliver Consulting Services: Develop and implement appropriate project
plans, conduct analysis of client needs, develop training curricula, write
and edit reports, support client needs, provide responsive service, provide
training and facilitate group process.
Engage in Outreach: Develop new client relationships and retain active
clients, support the Consulting Team's ability to meet revenue targets and
help represent TACS to prospective clients, funders and other key
stakeholders.
Contribute to the Team: Participate in the growth and success of TACS'
consulting services. Continue education and knowledge development of issues
related to organizational change, stay informed about client needs and
contribute to product and service development.

Required Qualifications

Experience in project management.
Experience working with a variety of cultures.
Proficiency in English and one other language (preferably Spanish).
Experience providing responsive client service.
Knowledge of nonprofit organizations.
Ability to create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate
to meet changing needs and requirements.
Ability to identify necessary resources and work with others to meet project
goals.
Ability to manage day-to-day and operational aspects of a project.
Attention to detail, high level of organization, ability to manage multiple
tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
Excellent written communication skills including report preparation.
High level of self-initiative, ability to work independently, in a
self-managed team, and in an office environment and with other teams.
Commitment to creating positive work relationships and a good sense of
humor.
Bachelors degree or related academic credentials.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and common business software.

Desired Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Bicultural background.
Consulting experience.
Knowledge of organizational development related issues.

Terms of Employment and Compensation

The Associate Consultant will be a full time employee of TACS and will be
supervised by the Director of Strategic Initiatives.
Salary for this position is $45,000 to $50,000 depending on qualifications.
This position will be eligible to participate in all fringe benefits made
available to TACS regular employees including:
Health, dental, vision, and disability insurance for the employee.
Paid vacation and personal leave time in accord with TACS employment
policies.
Employee contribution 403 (b) retirement plan.

About Us

Since 1977, TACS has provided training, customized consulting and
consultation, and networking opportunities that help nonprofit organizations
build the skills, systems, and strategies needed to achieve their missions.
Each year, TACS produces over 150 training events serving over 2000
participants, and provides customized consulting support to over 250
nonprofit organizations. TACS website, www.tacs.org, receives over 15,000
unique visits each month. TACS also operates seven monthly professional
learning seminars for nonprofit leaders (four in Portland, and one each in
Medford, Bend, and Salem) serving over 3,500 participants.

This past year TACS worked with nonprofit leaders throughout Oregon to
create the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO). NAO seeks to unite
nonprofits of all sizes and types to share resources and raise awareness of
nonprofit efforts in every community. Now with over 700 members, NAO
provides web tools to help nonprofits raise funds, manage human resources,
and stay informed of public policy issues which impact the nonprofit sector.
