Job Description/Qualifications:

The American National Red Cross ("ARC") operates under Congressional
Charter and in accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the
International Red Cross Movement. It helps Americans prepare for and
respond to emergencies. The ARC is also the nation's largest
collector, processor and distributor of blood products.

The ARC diversity department facilitates the achievement of ARC
business objectives by serving as the enterprise-wide resource for all
diversity-related matters, both internally and externally, to enhance
(1) organizational cultural competency and outreach to diverse and
under-served segments of the population, (2) the ability of ARC to
attract and retain diverse volunteers, employees and donors
representative of the communities we serve, and (3) the achievement of
business goals and objectives at all levels across the organization by
leveraging diversity and inclusion.

Job Summary:

The National Headquarters of the American Red Cross is currently
seeking a Chief Diversity Officer. Reporting to the President & Chief
Executive Officer ("CEO"), the Chief Diversity Officer provides
executive-level leadership and planning expertise to ARC to align with
business strategy, promote and monitor diversity initiatives related
to Red Cross donors, clients, and people. The Chief Diversity Officer
is responsible for reporting to the CEO on progress that departments
and lines of business make toward integrating diversity initiatives
and promoting inclusion through their business plans.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Partner with other departments to design and develop workforce
diversity programs, education, training, resources and materials to
build core competencies in diversity management, multicultural
marketing and community outreach consistent with the organization's
mission, vision, strategic direction, and business goals.

Working with senior leadership, create strategic business plans for
diversity management, service delivery outreach, and attracting
diverse blood donors and financial contributors. This includes
diversity assessment, planning, implementation, and measurement.

Perform evaluation of departmental progress toward achieving business
goals and strategies related to diversity initiatives. Serve as center
of expertise resource to departments who need assistance to
operationalize their goals and strategies by providing tools and human
capital resources. Build and maintain relationships with national
organizations serving specific diverse groups to foster joint
collaborations and partnerships in mutual goals and interests.

Build and maintain strategic networks in the field of diversity in
order to provide organizational access to best practices and expert
consultation including overseeing and coordinating the Diversity
Advisory Council.

Seek new diversity-related funding through private, local, state and
federal government.

Hire, direct, and supervise a small team of professional and
administrative staff.

Develop, manage, track, and report on the department budget.
