The conference will give participants the opportunity to discuss the
obstacles that our Latino students face as they attempt to access higher
education and achieve success. More importantly, participants will learn
innovative, practical and successful strategies that they can implement at
their own institutions that will enable them to help our Latino youth
overcome these obstacles on their path towards a college degree.
Presentation topics include:
* Unique needs of Latino students regarding financial aid and recruitment
* Innovative strategies that facilitate academic achievement
* Institutional policies that support retention efforts
* Engaging Latino students in campus/college activities
* Developing corporate and community partnerships
* Strategies for creating a campus atmosphere that promotes engagement
and success
