(NAME-MCE) training resources question

Hello,

I know others have made suggestions, but I wanted to add one: the
Intercultural Communication Institute & their Summer Institute for
Intercultural Communication (SIIC) http://www.intercultural.org/ -- they
have several (multi day) workshops on how to design and run intercultural
and diversity trainings. People come from all over the country and the
world to teach and learn at the Summer Institute.

As for other resources, try browsing the Intercultural Press website:
http://www.interculturalpress.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=63

Books:
Cross-Cultural Explorations: Activities in Culture and Psychology - Susan
Goldstein
The Handbook of Intercultural Training - Dan Landis, Janet M. Bennett,
Milton J. Bennett (Eds)
Survival Kit for Multicultural Living - Ellen Summerfield
Developing Intercultural Awareness: A Cross-Cultural Training Handbook - L.
Robert Kohls and John M. Knight (has a lot of resources at the end)

There's also a simulation game called StarPower which I've seen done -- it's
based around issues of privilege and the perpetuation of privilege, and it's
amazing; unfortunately, I don't know the creator/publisher names.

Hope these help!

Kara

Hello,
I'm looking for ideas or tools to offer workshops/trainings to college
students on multicultural awareness and sensitivity, oppression reduction,
etc.
Can anyone recommend a good organization or conference that offers "how to"
diversity trainings or "train the trainer" workshops. I've heard of the
National Coalition Building Institutes' leadership trainings, but am
wondering if there are other suggestions?
I would also love any suggestions for books, websites, videos, games,
experiential activities or other tools that people have found most helpful
in facilitating these types of trainings and workshops for college RA's and
others.
Many thanks,
Donna Jarvis
