With This New *Online *Professional Development Course
MAKING DIVERSITY COUNT
is an interactive program for middle and high school educators to
help you increase your cultural competency when working with
diverse student populations.
In this self-paced, immersive course — brought to you by the
Anti-Defamation League's A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE(R) Institute — you will
explore issues of bias and prejudice as you learn from experts in the fields
of teaching, education and civil rights.
MAKING DIVERSITY COUNT
was created with leading educators and anti-bias professionals, piloted
with teachers from around the country and evaluated by researchers at
the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Learn skills to sustain a classroom environment that promotes
respect, fairness and equity

• Design a plan to incorporate standards-based, interdisciplinary,
anti-bias resources and lessons into your classroom
COURSE SPECIFICS
• How Long Does It Take To Complete?
The course takes approximately 15 online hours to complete;
you can start anytime and progress on your own schedule.
• What Subjects Are Covered?
Course modules cover areas such as diversity, personal identity,
cross-cultural communication, conflict, name-calling and bullying and
creating an inclusive classroom.
• Can I Earn CEU credits?
You will receive certification of 15 hours of online professional
development work upon course completion. This certificate can help you
obtain CEUs from your district.
