POSITION TITLE
Director of First Year Programs
RESPONSIBILITIES
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is seeking a dynamic faculty
administrator to develop and implement unique courses and programs for
first year and transfer students. The successful candidate will hold a
terminal degree in a related field (higher education administration,
humanities, education, liberal arts, sciences, etc.), have a proven
track record implementing various types of learning communities and
first-year/junior-transfer transition experiences, and possess an
understanding of student retention issues. The candidate must have
experience working with a diverse population of students and
collaborating with academic and student support units. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills are required. Experience with
teaching, learning technology, and faculty development is preferred. A
record of appropriate research and scholarly publications is required.
The position will encompass teaching and curricular development. The
director will interact with a tem of advising and learning support
directors and report directly to the Dean of University College.
QUALIFICATIONS
Terminal Degree in a related field (higher education administration,
humanities, education, liberal arts, science, etc. Proven track

understanding of student retention issues.

SALARY RANGE
Salary Competitive; contingent upon labor market. Position is
contingent upon funding.
