According to Gavin Menzies, the author of the new book "1434: The Year
a Magnificent Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and Ignited the
Renaissance," Columbus had a Chinese chart when he set sail, and the
Leonardo da Vinci did not invent canals and locks or imagine all those
fantastic machines. They were based on the drawings of other Europeans
who copied them from the Chinese.

resulted in 1434, the book about how China sparked the Renaissance in
Europe.
I also highly recommend the book "1421" about the massive Chinese
"treasure fleets" that circumnavigated the globe. Look for the later
