The Latino Community Fund of Washington State
Executive Director
We're looking for a motivated, collaborative, and inspirational
go-getter to serve as our first Executive Director.
* Someone who shares LCF's values of collaboration, integrity, and
transparency;
* Someone's who's savvy about building strategic partnerships with diverse
constituents;
* Someone who's experienced in leading and managing fundraising efforts;
* Someone who can play a central role in identifying and implementing
opportunities to pasar la voz and increase LCF's visibility.
Established formally in 2006, LCF is a 501(c)(3) non profit
organization dedicated to improving the well-being of Latinos through
investments that create healthy communities. We collect resources
from individuals and institutions that are concerned about the Latino
community in order to have an exponentially greater impact in
supporting programs serving Latinos throughout the state.
Our first Executive Director must exemplify LCF values in each
interaction with our donors, volunteers, local communities of color
and the philanthropic community. Key responsibilities and functions
of the Executive Director role will include:
* Engage the board of directors in strategic planning, strategy
implementation, and making progress toward identified goals
* Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with other
philanthropic organizations
* Conduct outreach to increase awareness of LCF, including recruitment
of new members, fundraising efforts, and more
* Develop, plan and execute small-scale networking events and
receptions for existing and prospective supporters
* Maintain and enhance internal and external communications within the
Fund by developing effective channels of communication (including but
not limited to: a website, e-listserves)
We are looking for a leader who can manage fundraising efforts,
oversee events that will help increase the visibility of the network,
think strategically, and work in a collaborative manner with various
constituencies, including donors and institutional funders, non-profit
organizations and diverse local communities of color. Qualified
candidates will take the initiative to further our goals by
networking, identifying opportunities and recommending courses of action.
Specific qualifications include:
* Understanding and embracing LCF's values and goals.
* Three or more years work (or equivalent experience) in the
non-profit or philanthropic sectors, or in work relevant to LCF's
values and goals. Extensive networking experience in the
philanthropic community of King County and the Pacific Northwest is a plus.
* Successful planning and implementation of events, trainings and meetings.
* High level of written, verbal and presentation skills. Bilingual
español/inglés is a plus.
* Strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency with
email communications, fundraising research, databases and MS Office
applications.
* Highly organized, able to handle multiple priorities at one time.
* A willingness and ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
* Demonstrated experience working in diverse communities of color.
* An ability to operate at a high level of independence and self-direction.
