Description: The University Access Talent Search program at the University
of Arkansas is a grant funded early intervention federal TRIO program which
targets 600 6-

12th grade students with the potential for post-secondary education. The
University Access Counselor will work as part of a team to develop workshops
that prepare students to be successful in college and insure that all
requirements to enter college are met. Counselors will travel monthly to
target schools in

Benton and Carroll counties and McDonald County, MO to present workshops and

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree is required as well as experience in counseling students
concerning personal, academic, career, high school graduation, and college
placement/transition issues. Applicant must demonstrate ability to develop,
plan, organize, and implement activities related to secondary and
post-secondary completion.  Must demonstrate proficiency in written and
verbal communication, organizational skills, and ability to develop and
implement programs for adolescents.  Must have experience working with youth
and possess knowledge and experience with academic and career counseling,
technology, learning skills development, post-secondary admissions
requirements and other supportive services. Applicant must have the ability
to create and implement programs committed to academic excellence,
diversity, student success, and retention.  Applicant must have dependable
transportation.
