Thank you for posing this article on the "Norfolk 17". What a brave group of people and certainly very worthy of celebration. I'm glad that Virginia established scholarships in honor of these 17, but there is much work to be done in the area of multicultural education. The discrepencies that are glaring with the NCLB Act in the funding that is given in different school systems and the changes that need to be made in the ways that we meet students' needs in curriculum, etc. truly needs to be changed. I am glad for NAME because as a group of concerned educators, we can make a difference in honor of the Norfolk 17.
