$85,000 in Funding Available
Two Pride Foundation granting funds for organizations are currently open and
accepting applications. Organizations helping the LGBT community in Alaska,
Seattle/King County, parts of Idaho , Oregon and Washington can apply for
funding through our *Northwest

which are due on August 29, 2008.

Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Pierce, and/or
Shoshone County in Idaho; and/or Adams, Asotin, Ferry, Garfield, Lincoln,
Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, and/or Whitman County in Washington.
Applications are due on August 22, 2008.

non-profit organization. And once again we are not only giving $2,500 to one
randomly drawn organization, but also $1,000 to each of the top named
organizations in our funding areas of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and
Washington.

Join Us as we Honor Our Leaders
Three chances to join our community in honoring and celebrating our leaders.
Please join us at one of these free and fun events!

Pride Foundation's *Pierce County LGBT* Community Awards will be held on as
part of Tacoma's 2008 Pride Week. The awards honor individuals and
organizations whose efforts have had a positive effect on the LGBTQ and
allied community of Pierce County. Awards ceremony will be held on *Friday,
July 11*, at the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club, 502 Borough Road, starting at 7
p.m., the night before Tacoma's Pride Celebration "Out in the Park!" The
event is free and open to the public

An evening honoring *Kitsap County Super Star: Natalie Bryson*, Founder of
Kitsap County AIDS Foundation & Community Visionary

As part of the Tri Cities Pride Celebration, Pride Foundation is hosting the
first annual *Columbia Basin Rainbow Awards* to recognize organizations and
individuals who have had a positive effect on the LGBT community of central
Washington and northeastern Oregon.

The 2008 Columbia Basin Rainbow Award recipients are Gary Wolfer of Prosser,
Becky Mares of Yakima, Vista Youth Center in Kennewick and Pendleton PFLAG.

The Rainbow Awards will be held *Friday, July 18 *at 7:00 pm at Columbia
Basin College in Pasco, Gjerde Center, Building H (near the main entrance.)
The event is free and open to the public.
