The Office of Teacher Education, Neag School of Education is seeking an
Assistant Clinical Professor to direct the Office of School-University
Partnerships within the Office of Teacher Education. The Director of
School-University Partnerships works to develop and maintain productive
partnerships between the Neag School of Education and schools/school
districts in Connecticut for two purposes: to develop high-quality clinic
sites for teacher candidates enrolled in the teacher education program, and
to facilitate knowledge and skills exchanges between the university and the
school that will have a direct impact on K-12 student achievement.
This is a nine-month position that does not lead to academic tenure, but may
be renewed annually based upon annual performance review.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Doctorate in Education in Curriculum and
Instruction, Special Education, Educational Administration, or related
field; prior experience in teacher preparation; extensive experience working
in and/or with K-12 schools; excellent oral and written communication,
presentation, interpersonal skills. Experience and/or interest in urban
education and social justice issues related to education.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in preparing pre-service teachers
and/or new teachers in school settings, particularly urban school settings
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Director of School-University Partnerships will direct the Office of
School-University Partnerships within the Office of Teacher Education in the
Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. The Director of
School-University Partnerships will report directly to the Director of
Teacher Education.
The Director of School-University Partnerships works to develop and maintain
productive partnerships between the Neag School of Education and
schools/school districts in Connecticut for two purposes: to develop
high-quality clinic sites for teacher candidates enrolled in the teacher
education program, and to facilitate knowledge and skills exchanges between
the university and the school that will have a direct impact on K-12 student
achievement. Specific job duties include:
· Form, maintain, and grow relationships with district-level and
school-level leaders in Connecticut school districts, with a focus on
professional development school districts;
· Work with school leaders and district facilitators to craft plans for
partnership activities between the district and the university, including
Neag School of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of
Fine Arts, and College of Agriculture and Natural Resources;
· Generate, develop, and manage clinic placements for teacher education
students;
· Manage all aspects of the Neag School of Education student teaching
program;
· Gather, analyze, and monitor data related to clinic experiences,
including student placement data, clinic evaluations, and cooperating
teacher data;
· Organize, schedule, and staff clinic seminar courses;
· Provide clinic-related services to 360+ students;
· Supervise Partnership Office staff;
· Participate in the Neag School¹s NCATE accreditation review;
· Generate, conduct, and participate in local and national research
projects associated with fieldwork, clinic experiences, professional
development schools;
· Participate actively in Neag School of Education projects such as
study abroad, Institute for Urban School Improvement, and Teachers for A New
Era;
· Represent the Neag School and the University of Connecticut in service
to and participation with national organizations, such as the NNER and
Holmes Partnership, and with state organizations such as CT AACTE and CSDE
task forces and committees
· Participate in university level activities such as the internship
committee, service learning activities;
· Represent teacher education on Neag School committees such as the
International Committee, Assessment Committee;
· Other duties as assigned.
