Dear Mr. Villanueva:
You have announced the 2008 NCLR Annual Conference. This is a very hopeful event for many who need to have their voices heard, especially during this critical election year. I am one of these people, especially when I read that the NCLR Annual Conference will be representing the largest gathering of the nation’s most influential individuals, organizations, institutions, and companies working with the Hispanic community, benefitting advocates for social change.
I am most encouraged that people such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will be among the guest speakers. We need their help. These (and others) are the people that we need to reach, as we have an issue of grave concern, and many supporters (as well as senators and congressmen) throughout the country share our sentiments.
Can you help us get in touch with these people so that we can give them information about Ramsey Muniz? If you do not know about Ramsey, please read the past two postings that we have submitted about him.
Ramsey is a very unique, loving and spiritual man who was destined to help Mexican Americans, Hispanics, Latinos, and other and because of this leadership he was to experience intense suffering. His history is profound, and we need to bring the issue of his unjust incarceration to the leaders of this country.
If you cannot help us, will you please put us in touch with someone who can? We seek the assistance of Democrats and Republicans alike during this critical election year, as this is a humanitarian cause that merits everyone's assistance. Ramsey Muniz is 65 years old. He has suffered unjustly for many years, and we feel an insatiable need to to save him before the end of his life.
For additional information, go to www.freeramsey.com or go to youtube.com and search for Ramsey Muniz.
Sincerely,
Irma Muniz

>Springfield Students Have Spoken! Are we listening?
>
>During Springfield's Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, students, once
>again, opened our eyes to the kind of world they want to live in and to the
>deficits that still surround (bankrupt) us today.
>
>In honor of Dr. King, students submitted essays, poems, artwork and
>speeches. Some expressed their desire for that 'Beloved Community' which
>Dr. King so passionately spoke of. He gave us a joyful and elevated image to
>reach for. Some students shared their pain of being set apart by poverty or
>by racism. Some experienced the power of speaking out for themselves, for
>others and
>for the environment.
>
>A few challenged readers by including the questions: "Where are the voices?"
>"Who will speak out?"
>
>After reading several essays and poems, I realized that some of the students
>wrote with the hope that 'someone' would hear their pleas and 'fix' things.
>Others wrote with more urgency for the suffering to stop.
>
>How will our community respond to their concerns and experiences of
>discrimination, inequality, hunger, poverty, and their desire for a healthy
>environment and for peace not war?
>
>Can we shed our party loyalties, corporate loyalties and whatever else
>separates us and work together to finally make Dr. King's Dream a reality?
>Let's unite as Springfielders, join with others who are already working on
>some of these issues and be prepared to help many more students and families
>as the economy continues its downtrend.
>
>Please do not remain in denial or require more study, more proof, and more
>pain - or wait for certain winds to change - before helping to set the
>course that will alleviate poverty and lead to the equality and peace which
>Dr. king sought 40 years ago and which our children are still seeking now.

>Dear Friends:
>Several years ago Ramsey Muniz and others who suffered greatly in maximum security penitentiaries did research to uncover the beauty of our indigenous history, culture, and spirituality. The knowledge that was uncovered was as deep as their suffering, and it became their purpose, strength, and perseverance.
>
>Below is an excerpt of a letter from Ramsey Muniz. To read more about him go to www.freeramsey.com or www.youtube.com and search for Ramsey Muniz. You may also click on the link below.

>Our harmony and power have not lessened in spite of this mode of darkness. It has increased, and no external force can overcome the beauty and intensity of our "Ome." Even during these times that people mistakenly celebrate for the wrong reasons, we, the Mexika(me-shee-ka) of the Sixth Sun accept and embrace with our true and pure hearts that Ome is the ancient spiritual Nahuatl master mind and harmonious alliance of two or more native minds.
>
>The Nahuatl method does not regard as important that which seems durable yet begins to die away, but rather that which may NOT seem durable, though arising and developing, for the Nahuatl method considers invincible only that which is arising and developing. Therefore, I say that in this century that which matters to a Mexika of the Sixth Sun is arriving at the totality of one's self.
>
>The visions are clear. Mexika of the Sixth Sun are arising and developing. We, the Mexika of the 21st Century, celebrate the arrival and prophecy of the Sixth Sun. We celebrate the true meaning of human spirituality, love, Ome, vemmana, and the warmth of the heart that comes within the Rising of the Sixth Sun! Yes, we celebrate and rejoice with the world, with our brothers and sisters from the Holy Land of Mexico that we have risen!
>
>Even in the darkest dungeons of this society the world knows that I don't practice magic. I have been destined, however, to interpret the prophecy from signs, our ancient scriptures, symbols, writings, and dreams. Yes, through my dreams and visions speak the voices of the forgotten past. Now is the voice of our discovered future -- The Rising of the Sixth Sun. The Rising of the Sixth Sun must be allowed to take its rightful place in the universal balance. No one can detain the coming of The Rising of the Sixth Sun. Rejoice, and share with all that the time has come. We have risen!
