Registration Now Open for Urban Small Schools Symposium

On Our Watch: The Urban Small Schools Symposium, will take place April
25-26, 2008, at EXCEL High School in Oakland, CA. The symposium
features keynote speeches by Pedro Noguera and Linda Darling-Hammond,
workshops on effective and equitable education, and optional
school-site visits.

The Urban Small Schools Symposium, "On Our Watch: Preparing Urban
Students for Life, Leadership, and Academic Excellence," will bring
together teachers, students, parents/community members,
administrators, district office personnel, school staff, and support
providers to focus on creating equitable and just urban small schools,
with a focus on powerful teaching and learning. The symposium will
provide participants with tools and strategies to take back and use in
their classrooms, schools and communities.
