Director Center for Women
Emory University in Atlanta, GA is among the top 20 universities in the
country and is internationally recognized for its academics, groundbreaking
research and technological advances with staff, faculty and students
representing all regions of the United States and more than 100 nations.
Currently we have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Center of Women.
The Director, Center for Women, reports to the Senior Vice Provost for
Community and Diversity. The Director is an inclusive leader responsible
for designing, implementing, and reviewing plans that provide the Center for
Women at Emory (CWE) with strategic vision and practical goals. The Center
provides a range of inclusive programs and services for Emory women and
facilitates, creates and supports opportunities for public discussion of sex
and gender. The Director is responsible for budgetary management; human
resources and other programmatic components that produce resources for women
encourage institutional assessment of women's experience at Emory and expand
the understanding of how sex and gender play a role in defining our
University community.
Minimum Qualifications: MA or MS and Eight years work experience expected.
Ph.D. or other advanced degree preferred. Five years work experience in
higher education, community non-profit or other organization located in a
complex, decentralized environment desirable. Demonstrates an ability to
work in a diverse working environment. Excellent oral and written
communication skills. Capacity to manage print and external communications.
Organizational skills and deep capability to work with dedicated volunteer
staff. Significant experience in program and workshop development is
necessary. Experience in budgetary management and fundraising are
desirable.
