Students are counting on NLNS to find outstanding leaders. Brighten a
student's future by helping NLNS find great educators who can become
the next great principals!
Students need effective principals to lead teachers and the school
community. New Leaders for New Schools is a national nonprofit
organization that focuses on this very need in order to transform
urban education. New Leaders provides alternative certification and a
new pathway for passionate and resourceful educators to become school
leaders in low-income communities across the country. The NLNS mission
is to ensure high academic achievement for every student, by providing
students nationwide with leaders who possess instructional expertise,
leadership skills, and the ability to achieve in the face of daunting
obstacles. Already, New Leaders principals are making significant
gains – over the past year, the single most improved schools in
Chicago, Sacramento, Oakland, and Washington, DC were led by New
Leaders principals. Now in its seventh year, 431 New Leaders serve
over 200,000 students in Baltimore, California's Bay Area, Chicago,
Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Prince George's
County, MD, and Washington, DC.
Please help continue to improve schools nationwide by visiting
www.nlns.org to apply to become a New Leader or to nominate someone
else to become an outstanding principal.
The final application deadline is February 28, 2008.
