Hi everyone,
The link I'm attaching here is to a free curriculum called the
Storytelling Project that analyzes race and racism through
storytelling and the arts. The lessons are based on a model going
through different story types about racism: from the dominant,
mainstream to those of people of color or white allies that are
concealed to resistance to counter stories, where students create
their own stories and plans for how to fight racism.
There are about 32 lessons in total, including handouts, chapter
overviews, and background articles. The lessons have all been used in
high school classrooms in New York City and some in my own middle
school classroom. They work across subjects like social studies,
language arts, art, and more. This is still a draft of the final
curriculum, so in return for giving you a complete pdf copy for free,
we are just asking for some information for a one-time follow up
questionnaire.
As you're planning for an anti-racist curriculum this year, we hope
that this helps!
