As you know, Global Youth Service Day (www.YSA.org/gysd) is less than
two weeks away (April 25-27). This year's event promises to be bigger
and better than ever!
Here are FIVE WAYS that you can promote your organization's leadership
of Global Youth Service Day:
1. Register GYSD Projects and/or join up with a GYSD project in your
area
Project organizers can register service projects at www.YSA.org/map,
enabling Youth Service America to highlight these projects through our
international media campaign. Projects will appear on the online GYSD
U.S. map, where you will see projects already registered. This is a
great way to publicize your organization's events.
2. Issue a Press Release Highlighting Your Leadership of GYSD
Press release templates are located at:
http://ysa.org/GlobalYouthServiceDay/GYSDTools/GYSDToolsTemplates/tabid/
175/Default.aspx. Please send this out to the media and also send to
Christina Wessell Batcheler, Youth Service America's Director of
Communications, at cbatcheler at ysa.org. We will post on our website. If
you have any celebrities participating in GYSD, please let us know as
there could be national media opportunities available for you.

3. Post the Global Youth Service Day Web Banners on your Website
You can view banners and download the html code for posting the banners
on your site at
http://ysa.org/GlobalYouthServiceDay/GYSDTools/ShareableMediaLogosphotos
andmore/tabid/174/Default.aspx#banners.

Additionally, visit

ail.aspx to view additional resources featured on MTV.com through Youth
Service America's blog.

4. Order Global Youth Service Day T-Shirts, Hats, and Buttons
T-shirts, hats, and buttons are a great way to raise the visibility of
your events and thank volunteers. To order, visit
http://www.ysa.org/nysd/resource/

5. View YSA's Newest Resource to Help You Get Active in the Fight
Against Malaria
The UN Foundation and Youth Service America have collaborated on a new
service-learning module combining malaria prevention, awareness and
fundraising that serves to engage volunteers on Global Youth Service Day
(April 25-27, 2008) and World Malaria Day (April 25, 2008). Both events
fall on the same weekend this year giving young people, parents, and
educators an opportunity to engage in service projects that address
malaria and its role as a global health crisis. To access the new
module, please click on the following link:
