Under the general supervision of the Director of EOD, administers
comprehensive equal opportunity/diversity outreach programs and
various compliance functions and responsibilities. The programmatic
role designs informational and motivational programs on diversity and
harassment prevention and participates as a university representative
to broad and diverse communities across the State of Iowa. The
compliance role of this position advances institutional compliance
with federal, state and Board of Regents mandates through process
reviews, training, data analysis and reporting, complaint
investigation, and participating in the resolution of complaints.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written
communication skills, have a track record of innovative thinking and
program development in the area of diversity and inclusion, and have a
reputation as a problem-solver and management adviser in the
resolution of complaints. This person should also be able to
demonstrate knowledge of contemporary diversity issues and trends;
complaint resolution strategies and techniques, experience conducting
internal complaints.
