PRIMARY FUNCTION
Authority and responsibility to direct, supervise, administer, and
manage ADL's Education Division and perform such other executive and
administrative duties as may be assigned. Provide management,
long-range strategic planning, and supervision of the Education
Division's departments, programmatic offerings, budgets, and
contractual operations. Oversee delivery of comprehensive programs
and services to address ADL's education agenda and curricula.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Develop long-range strategic plans for, and oversee programs and
services provided by, the Education Division. Direct, manage, and
support the development, delivery, evaluation, and funding of all the
League's education programs.
▪ Ensure sound fiscal management of the Division's programs on a
regional and national level. Review Education grant proposals and
assist in strategic planning and solicitation of national funding.
▪ Hire, train, and supervise Education Department Heads. Assist in
hiring, training, and supervising national and regional Education
staff.
▪ Oversee Education Division policies for the purpose of producing
educational materials that address both broad-based and
Jewish-specific issues.
▪ Represent ADL to Jewish and non-Jewish educational agencies,
organizations, and institutions.
▪ Establish and maintain strong relationships with ADL lay people and
members of the education community at large. Staff the National
Education Committee and Regional Quadrants board and participate in ad
hoc committees as may from time to time be formed to further the work
of the Education Division. Raise money in support of Education
programs by establishing effective relationships with key Education
lay leaders and Development staff.
▪ Direct and monitor, along with other senior Education staff, methods
and efforts to improve the content and resources of the Division.
Communicate and provide guidance to regional staff undertaking
education-related projects and programs.
▪ Market Education programs, write articles for ADL and external
publications, meet with clients, speak at conferences and board
meetings, and participate in media outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Advanced degree in education, business, or a related field.
▪ Ten years' progressively responsible experience in education or a
related field, including management and supervisory experience in a
non-profit or educational setting. Five years' experience in
diversity/anti-bias education and training.
▪ Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and strategic thinking skills. Strong
supervisory and management skills. Strong business acumen.
▪ Excellent program and curriculum design and development skills.
Significant knowledge and familiarity with the Education field (pre-K
through 12 and college levels), with particular emphasis on anti-bias
and diversity issues.
▪ Strong commitment to the ideals and mission of the Anti-Defamation
League are essential.
