Sixth National Conference on Best Practices in Black Student Achievement

January 27-29, 2008  Clemson University  Clemson SC

Clemson University invites you to share your expertise. Present your
school's best-practice programs that help African American students be
more successful.

This best-practice conference consistently attracts many of the
country's top leaders and advocates for black students. This year
promises to be the same. Our keynote speaker is the Reverend Jesse
Jackson, founder and president of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition.

The topics for your proposed presentation may include, but are not limited to

- Preparing at-risk African American students for college;
- Retaining and graduating African American students;
- Popular culture and how it can impact a black student's academic success;
- Helping more African American students earn terminal degrees,
participate in honors programs and be admitted into the country's top
colleges and universities.
- Programs must have a proven record of success.
- Preference will be given to programs that can include participating
students in the presentation.

Call for Presentations
Submission Deadline: July 1, 2007
Acceptance Deadline: August 15, 2007

Those who have responsibilities in

- Admissions
- Financial aid
- Student affairs
- Diversity/multicultural programs and research
- Minority recruitment and retention programs

Submission Format: Presentation proposals should not exceed two pages
and should include data and information that demonstrate the program's
effectiveness.
