The Office of Migrant Education (OME) seeks to hire two (2) new staff
members. These positions officially opened on March 19 and CLOSE ON
FRIDAY, MARCH 30. Both positions are posted at both the GS-9 grade
level (salary range of $46,041 - $59,852) and the GS-11 grade level
(salary range of $55,706 - $72,421). Applicants should apply for the
position(s) at the grade level commensurate with their experience and
will be ranked against other applicants who apply at the same grade
level. Both positions have promotion potential to a GS-12 grade level
(salary range of $66,767 - $86,801). Applicants who wish to apply for
both positions need to apply at the appropriate GS level(s) for each
position. Only one person will be selected for each of the two
positions.

VACANCY NUMBER OESE-2007-0062 (GS-9 career ladder to a GS11 & GS-12,
and GS-11 career ladder to a GS-12): To be considered for this
position, the candidate must have experience in implementing or
analyzing K-12 education programs or policies at the national, state
or local level under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The
supervisor for this position is Alex Goniprow.

VACANCY NUMBER OESE-2007-0064 (GS-9 career ladder to a GS11 & GS-12,
and GS-11 career ladder to a GS-12): To be considered for this
position, the candidate must have experience in implementing or
analyzing pre-K-12 education programs or policies at the national,
state or local level under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 or the
Higher Education Act (HEA), as amended in 1998. The supervisor for
this position is Lisa Ramirez.

The full vacancy announcement is available online at the USA Jobs
website at http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/. Once on the USA Jobs website,
click on the "search jobs" tab. When the basic search screen appears,
perform a keyword search on the words "migrant education" or on one of
the vacancy announcement numbers listed above. A job summary will
appear that contains a hyperlink to the full vacancy announcement.
The vacancy announcement will remain available online until the date
the position closes.

The U.S. Department of Education uses an online application system
that requires applicants to complete an online survey and submit an
online resume. Applicants' responses to the survey are an important
part of determining which candidates are best qualified for the
position. More detailed instructions are found in the vacancy
announcement and the online application. If you apply, please ensure
that your application submission provides detailed information on all
relevant professional experience (unlike the private sector,
government personnel offices tend to favor detailed applications).

For questions regarding the application process, please feel free to
contact Judy Williams by telephone at (202) 401-0526 or by e-mail at
Judy.Williams at ed.gov.

Please pass this announcement on to anyone you think might be
interested in this position as OME hopes to have a strong pool of
candidates.
