Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon and Portland State
University in Portland, Oregon are excited to host the 2007
Metropolitan Diversity Institute on April 26th (at PSU) and 27th(at
MHCC). This year's institute is dedicated to giving you the theory,
tools and techniques you need to foster diversity in action.
This transformational event is for managers, employees, business and
community leaders, educators, students and EVERYONE committed to
fostering diversity in education, businesses and communities.
Outstanding Keynote Speakers:
Dr. Daryl Smith, a Professor of Education and Psychology, from
Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California will be
Thursday's keynote speaker at PSU. Dr. Smith's numerous publications
center on achieving faculty diversity, evaluation and organizational
change, college governance issues, women in academe, women's colleges,
institutional research and student affairs.
Mohammed Bilal, TV personality and renowned diversity presenter will
be Friday's Keynote Speaker at MHCC. Mohammed Bilal has appeared on
MTV's Real World III and has consulted over 200 universities and
corporations worldwide. With a Master's Degree in Diversity Studies,
Mohammed has dedicated over 22 years to diversity as a performance
artist, rapper, poet, lecturer and future author. Mohammed is the
field's new voice.
