Mahwah, NJ – February 1, 2007 - The Filipino Intercollegiate
Networking Dialogue, Inc. (FIND, Inc.) is an internationally
recognized organization dedicated to the communication amongst
Filipino college students and creating awareness of various issues of
the Filipino community. Established in 1992, FIND, Inc. connects East
Coast colleges, universities, vocational, and technical schools. These
member schools are divided into seven districts according to their
geographic proximity, and are located from the Northeastern seaboard
through the state of Virginia. FIND, Inc. holds annual fall Dialogues
and spring Conferences to bring together students to discuss various
topics about Filipino and Filipino-American culture and current
events.

FIND, Inc. has chosen Ramapo College of New Jersey located in Mahwah,
NJ to host the 2007 Spring Conference. The Conference, themed
"Pagbangon ng Bagong Pilipino" will take place on March 16-18, 2007.
The theme, when translated from Tagalog, means "Rising of the New
Pilipino." The ultimate aspiration of this Conference is exactly what
the title states: to locate all of Filipinos in America and educate
and empower them through lessons in Filipino history and culture. The
conference's theme is built on the notion that any individual Filipino
delegate, regardless of birthplace, ought to be empowered and revealed
to oneself and to the rest of the world. The new Pilipino is a person
with a fundamental perception of who we are and why we are the way we
are at this moment, not only in the Philippines but globally.

Ramapo College of New Jersey is member of District Three (DIII), which
also includes Rutgers University – New Brunswick, Rutgers University –
Newark, Seton Hall University, New York University, St. John's
University, SUNY Stony Brook, College of Mt. Saint Vincent, New Jersey
Institute of Technology, Pace University, Fordham University, CUNY
Baruch, CUNY Hunter, CUNY City College, Fashion Institute of
Technology, Stevens Institute of Technology, William Patterson
University, St. Peter's College, and Montclair State.

In addition to this major FIND event, District Three has been the host
for many Filipino advocacy and activist events and has served as the
home for chapters of such organizations as Philippine Forum,
Anakbayan, and FAHSI. With each passing year, the number of member
schools to the district grows and grows, making it the largest
district within FIND Inc. Although District III is known as one of the
largest districts in FIND, it is also noted for maintaining the
importance of good communication and unity throughout.
