Background
East Metro Integration District (EMID) is a collaborative effort that fosters voluntary integration among St. Paul Public Schools and nine suburban school districts in the eastern Twin Cities, Minnesota metro area. Participating districts include: St. Paul, ISD 625, Inver Grove Schools, ISD 199, Mahtomedi Schools, ISD 832, North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Schools, ISD 622, Roseville Area Schools, ISD 623, White Bear Lake Schools, ISD 624, South Washington County Schools, ISD 833, Stillwater Area Schools, ISD 834, South St. Paul Public Schools, ISD 6,West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan, ISD 197
EMID's mission is to provide and promote integrated opportunities for students, families, and staff that expand cultural understanding and support academic achievement. EMID includes the following programs and services:

§ Crosswinds Arts and Science School
§ Multicultural Resource Center
§ Collaborative initiatives including professional development and youth programming
Job Summary
This new leadership position will establish an office of equity and integration that provides professional development, student programs, and technical assistance to EMID's ten member districts. The Integration Program Supervisor ensures that programs and services address issues of equity in education to improve academic achievement, increase interracial student learning, and lead to organizational effectiveness. This position supports EMID member districts in addressing key equity issues while implementing the Minnesota Desegregation Rule.
Key Duties/Tasks
· Provide leadership in creating, implementing, and evaluating high quality professional development opportunities and effective student programs consistent with the vision and mission of EMID.
· Provide information sources that assist EMID districts and schools in incorporating educational equity into policies, procedures and classroom practices.
· Assist member districts and schools in analyzing data, engaging in meaningful inquiry, implementing action plans to address disparities, and evaluating the effectiveness of equity initiatives.
· Work in partnership with existing EMID schools, programs, and services to coordinate integration efforts and maximize resources.
· Assist in recruitment, selection, supervision, training, and evaluation of staff responsible for coordinating professional development services and student programs.
· Adhere to district budgeting policies and procedures for programs and services within the office of equity and integration.
· Develop and maintain relationships with member district stakeholders, community organizations, and institutions of higher learning.
· Coordinate communication efforts to raise awareness and provide information regarding the services and programs available through the office.
· Conduct ongoing program evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the office's services and programs.
Required Qualifications
Education/Training:
* Masters degree in education or a related field
Experience:
* Minimum of five years professional experience with increasing responsibility in education or related field
Knowledge and Skills:
* Clear understanding of effective practices in culturally responsive teaching, equity-centered professional development, youth development, and school improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse stakeholders and provide leadership in organizational change.
* Successful experience assisting teams in reviewing data, developing plans, and evaluating results.
* Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/Training:
* Administrative license
Experience:
* Instructional experience in a K-12 setting
* Significant school or district leadership experience focused on equity of educational results
* Experience in urban and suburban school settings
* Supervisory experience
Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience incorporating students' cultural backgrounds into the learning process.
* Demonstrated commitment to integration and equity in a professional context.
* Understanding of and appreciation for critical pedagogy and anti-bias education.
* Experience developing and providing high-quality professional development.
* Experience developing and providing effective youth programs.
* Ability to use technology for both administrative and instructional purposes.
* Experience managing a budget with efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
* Knowledge of program evaluation.
