Professional Opportunity: Giving Programs Coordinator 06-07
Lakeside School is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1919, the school enrolls 776 students in grades 5 through 12 from diverse ethnic, racial, religious, and economic backgrounds.

This new position will be a full-time (37.5 hours weekly), year-round non-overtime eligible staff appointment starting as soon as possible. The position may also require repetitive work, standing, sitting, lifting, and frequent local travel.
Responsibilities. The Giving Programs Coordinator will join Lakeside School's ten-person development office, charged with fund raising of annual and directed gifts; donor, alumni and parent relations; leadership volunteer support; donor recognition; data management; and archives. This position reports to the Director of Major and Planned Giving. The Giving Programs Coordinator works with the major and planned giving program and the Annual Fund, coordinating donor cultivation and stewardship, solicitations, volunteer recruitment and support, donor research, and data collection and analysis in order to accomplish the goals of the major gifts, planned giving, and Annual Fund efforts.
Qualifications. The successful applicant will have four or more years of development experience and a four-year college liberal arts degree or equivalent experience. Candidates will have the poise and professionalism to work with a broad range of school leaders; superb written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple events and tasks. Writing skills must include copy writing for grant proposals, direct mail appeals, and/or newsletter articles. Candidates must have sufficient leadership skills to take initiative and work independently, and enough humility to take direction effectively. Also essential is the ability to work as part of a team, to be detail oriented and deadline driven, and to maintain a pleasant and effective working relationship with colleagues and constituents. Computer literacy in a Windows/PC environment and proficiency with spreadsheet and data-base software is essential, as is the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and to advocate for the mission of Lakeside School. Experience managing publication production and maintaining Web sites is desirable.
