I think that this is a no brainer.  With family structures the way the  are 
today in urban districts, it makes perfect sense to scale down the size of  
schools in order to give students more of a 'family' atmosphere.  As  educators, 
we must take up the slack caused by eroding family values and try  ways to 
help instill them in students.  Don't studies prove that  nurturing, caring, and 
involvement on the part of parents, generally creates  better students in the 
future?  I believe that schools NEED to take the  place of homes in some 
children's lives.  Agreed?
