Greetings!
We are pleased to announce the "Leadership in Action" (LIA) Internship
Program!
In its 10th year, the LIA program provides an opportunity for students to
gain experience in a community-based organization (CBO) while learning about
issues in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

This is a PAID internship that is made possible by our sponsors and funding
agencies.  Interns will be placed with CBOs based in the Southern California
area, and the matching is dependent upon interest areas of both interns and
CBOs.

Details:
Dates: The internship takes place from June 18 – August 17th, 2007.
Stipend: $2,000 for the 8 week term
Projects: Interns will contribute 4 days at a CBO on the CBO's suggested
projects, and one day at LEAP to gain leadership training and participate in
active discussions about the AAPI community. There will be an end of
internship "group" LEAP project that all interns will create and present.

*Please note that this application requires letters of recommendation, so
please plan accordingly.
Requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by June 18, 2007.
Applicants must be either currently enrolled in college or a recent
graduate.
Selection: Based upon the quality and strength of the applications submitted
and letters of recommendation.

**Deadline to apply for this program is Friday, March 2nd, 2007.
