The Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools is looking for a
talented and passionate individual to join its Executive Management
team as its Chief Academic Officer. The Alliance is a leading
developer of secondary charter schools in the Los Angeles area.
Currently, there are seven successful Alliance schools in operation
and three more schools are scheduled to open in the fall of 2007. As
the Alliance network of schools continues to grow, the Alliance needs
a Chief Academic Officer to lead the implementation and continuous
improvement of the organization's education model and ensure that all
Alliance College-Ready Public Schools maintain a high level of
performance and quality.

Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in secondary education
and in-depth knowledge of secondary curriculum, instruction, and
assessment. Personal commitment to improving urban middle and high
schools and leading education reform. Proven ability to scale an
education model with quality across a large number of schools. Proven
leadership and management skills. Experience working in an
entrepreneurial environment.

Minimum Requirements: Experience as a principal at a successful urban
school. Graduate degree in education or related area, Masters or PhD
preferred.
