Position: Assistant Professor of Education  
Reports to: Dean, School of Education and Leadership 

Status: Full-time 9 month, Tenure track, Start date, August 15, 2008

General Description: 
Notre Dame de Namur University seeks a multifaceted instructor for its
Multiple Subject credential program. The candidate should have a broad
knowledge and wide variety of skills in education with the ability to
teach Foundation classes and some Pedagogy classes(e.g. Science and/or
Math) for elementary grades. In addition, the candidate will be expected
to support student teachers and other students through advising and
supervising in K-8 classrooms. 

Qualifications: 

Ph.D./Ed.D in education required 
Successful experience teaching a range of education courses at the
undergraduate or graduate level 
Demonstrated scholarship in the field of education 
Experience in K-12 school systems serving diverse students 
Experience supervising teacher candidates in field settings 
Familiarity with legislation governing teacher education 
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff
