Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will report to
the Chancellor, collaborate with the Executive Vice Chancellor, Vice
Chancellors, and Deans and serve as a member of the Chancellor's
Executive Cabinet. The individual will advise the Chancellor and
institutional constituencies on policies and actions related to
diversity, equity and inclusion. In cooperation with the senior
university executives, this administrator will provide visionary
leadership and coordination of diversity planning to ensure the
successful development and implementation of diversity, equity and
inclusion initiatives; building an educational community that respects
the spectrum of human diversity including race, ethnicity, gender,
gender identity, socio-economic status, national origin, sexual
orientation, religion, and physical and mental ability; and lead
IUPUI's efforts in ensuring the development of a diverse, inclusive,
and intellectually vibrant campus environment. IUPUI is seeking a
person with an advanced graduate professional degree from an
accredited college or university; academic preparation and
professional experience that qualify him/her for appointment to the
tenured faculty; seven or more years of relevant supervisory
experience preferably at an urban/metropolitan university or in the
private sector; a demonstrated record of success in the recruitment,
retention, and success of historically underrepresented populations; a
strong record of success in developing, sustaining, and advancing
programs related to student, faculty, staff, and community diversity
initiatives; demonstrated experience in budget management and grant
preparation; experience in serving as an advocate for diversity,
equity and inclusion; and excellent communication, mediation, and
consultative skills.
