The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for
the position of Director for Centro Hispano, a Hispanic advocacy
organization housed within the university. The Director is responsible
for the supervision, management, and maintenance of programs in Centro
Hispano, serving as a resource for information synthesis/consultation
on the development, implementation, and assessment of programs
designed to enhance the overall university experience of students and
promote awareness of and appreciation for the large variety of
Hispanic cultures. The Director also serves on task forces and
committees across the university and regional community.
Qualifications:
*master's degree;
*a minimum of five years of role-related experience including but not
limited to college level teaching, operation of a cultural
center/facility, organizational leadership, and supervisory experience;
*demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and
faculty, including active collaboration with higher education
administrators and community members;
*experience working with a wide range of racial/ethnic groups as well
as other underrepresented populations;
*strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills;
