Dear Higher Education Diversity Professionals,
We are writing on behalf of Chancellor Steve Ballard at East Carolina
University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. Chancellor Ballard
invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief
Diversity Officer. This position reports directly to the Chancellor
and contributes to the University’s diversity efforts by reviewing
and developing programs that expand diversity at ECU, while embodying
and articulating a vision of ECU as a diverse, inclusive institution.
The ideal candidate will possess: strong interpersonal skills;
ability to effectively manage conflict and facilitate culture change;
clear oral and written communication skills; familiarity with federal
and state constitutional and civil rights law. Experience in higher
education and previous experience in diversity program development
are important. A Masters degree is required, a terminal degree is
preferred.
