Appointment Period: 10 months (September 1 - June 30), renewable annually
The Center on Diversity and Community at the University of Oregon seeks a
dynamic and committed individual for the position of Professional
Development Specialist to complement its current staff. The successful
candidate will specialize in conflict resolution and organizational
development (through experiential and dialogue-based approaches), with a
focus on multicultural effectiveness and diversity engagement, and will also
participate in the design and delivery of the Center's broader professional
development and organizational effectiveness workshops, trainings, classes,
consultations, presentations, and support resources. This position is part
of a collaborative team of CoDaC staff that works in tandem with related
units to advance multicultural organizational effectiveness and professional
development goals. The Center's primary audience includes UO faculty,
administrators, staff, and graduate students, and also extends to include
other key stakeholders on and off campus.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in conflict resolution
or related field that is appropriate to this position, or equivalent in
training and professional experience. This person will posses: demonstrated
excellence in training and program administration at the university level
and/or equivalent professional experience in organizational diversity and
professional development; expertise in multicultural organizational
development and conflict/dispute resolution systems, and design/delivery of
experiential and dialogue-based programs to serve a diverse large
organization; exceptional organizational, facilitation, oral and written
communication skills; and demonstrated ability to work effectively with
instructional faculty, students, administrators, and staff from diverse
disciplines and cultures.

(strongly preferred) or (2) a graduate degree with substantial relevant
experience (considered), in higher education (leadership, policy,
administration, etc.) or related field appropriate to this position. This
person will possess: demonstrated excellence in teaching, training, and
program administration at the university level and/or equivalent
professional experience in organizational diversity and professional
development; professional expertise in pedagogical methods, curricular
innovations, and organizational consulting to serve a diverse university
community; exceptional organizational, facilitation, oral, and written
communication skills; and demonstrated ability to work effectively with
instructional faculty, students, administrators, and staff from diverse
disciplines and cultures.
