The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIE&D)

University of Oregon

The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity seeks a Director to
oversee the Office of Multicultural Academic Support (OMAS) and guide
the vision and mission of the OMAS office.  The director will oversee
a staff of academic advisors and office support, and lead OMAS in
ensuring students with diverse backgrounds have a successful,
productive experience at the University of Oregon.  In conjunction
with other university offices, this position will develop and direct
academic programs to attract and retain students from underrepresented
groups, to enhance and foster a campus environment which recognizes,
celebrates, and values its diversity.  Other functions include
consulting central administration in developing policies as they
relate to diversity in higher education; coordinating a continuum of
services for culturally diverse students, with emphasis on services
that lead to student retention, academic success, and successful
graduation; and developing and maintaining active working
relationships with other student service offices, programs, and
departments.

In addition to supervising the OMAS advisors and office staff, this
position will oversee the OMAS budget and report directly to the Vice
Provost for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED).

A master's degree in college student personnel, counseling, higher
education administration or related fields with higher education
experience and three to five years of progressive leadership and
supervisory experience are required.
